Sustainability
Keyna focuses on sustainability and strives to have a no waste system, starting with the material of the jewellery which is made with recycled metal. The packaging and mailers are also created using recycled paper and are totally reusable and recyclable. Keyna aims to be sustainable in all aspects of the business and will always strive to be better as time goes on. Ethical practices are one of the main values of the brand as we believe human rights are fundamental and should be respected.
Recyclable Packaging
All of our packaging is made with recycled paper and cardboard and can be 100% recycled again (even the glue!). We encourage our customers to keep the box the jewellery came in to use it while they travel or for other things, giving it an even longer life. Our packaging is made in a small family run business in Italy where working conditions are as important to them as they are to us.
Recycled metals
All of our pieces are made with recycled metal that has gone through a refining process so it is identical to pure metal.
The look, weight and feel is the same as pure metal and the durability too.
We choose to use recycled metal as we believe there is already so much unused metal in the world that could be given a second life and greater purpose. We also prefer not to support the mining industry as it is known to be bad for the environment as well as the health and rights of those who work in the mines.
LONG LASTING METALS, FREE OF HARSH CHEMICALS.
Our jewellery is made from recycled 925 sterling silver and solid gold as both of these metals are durable and have a long life. When taken care of correctly, they won’t tarnish for a long time. We purposely do not use gold plating in our jewellery as plating requires chemicals that are both harmful to humans and the environment. On top of that, gold plated items have a much shorter lifespan, tarnish quicker and don’t reflect our brands values of sustainability.
